Their signature french toast is the best I've ever had and I've eaten quite a lot of them! Perfect combination of flavours and perfect proportions of crunchy and moist! Definitely a must!

As a french person, I can definitely tell you that this cafe/bakery sells the best bread in Canberra. I also went there for breakfast and the food was absolutely delicious, very tasty and fresh. I couldn’t stop recommending this place to anyone who is looking after authentic and quality food.

Enjoyed a wonderful coffee and delicious lemon tart at the very popular Silo Bakery in Kingston. Friendly staff, relaxing environment, and the perfect place to unwind after a busy work week. Do yourself a favour and treat yourself, friends and family to this very special social meeting place .

Visit Silo Bakery and Cafe for some of the best breads and pastries around. Located about ten mins drive from Canberra CBD in the trendy little area of Kingston, it’s worth the trip.
Their Artisan bread and pastries are made in store and are pretty popular, so be sure to get there early. It’s a small spot with minimal decor and only a few tables to eat at, so it’s best to grab what you want as takeaway.
Do you prefer their silo sourdough, rye sourdough volkornbrot, kingston, white sourdough, stirato crusty italian bread, french style white baguette, ciabattini small italian style square rolls or french style roll? So many to pick from. I buy a loaf of the walnut and cranberry for later, can’t wait to eat it!
Maybe you’re a croissant fan - plain croissants, almond croissants, butter brioche, pain au chocolate, Orange & Pistachio Snail, Custard & Raisin or our pick of the day, the “Evie” - apple, almond & raisin in croissant pastry. Crispy and super tasty.
They also have a rhubarb galettes and pear galettes
From the savoury options there’s quiche, pies
and sausage rolls and boreks as well as sandwiches. You can even eat in at their cafe with omelettes, eggs, French toast or muesli and a coffee.

Always great! As spring comes around and we’re venturing outside more, sitting outside for lunch at Silo is enjoyable. The french toast with prosecco jelly is so tasty, and the mushrooms on toast with a poached egg and gruyere is great. Pairing those with campari and orange juice that’s freshly squeezed was a nice treat. But never pass up the opportunity to get a coffee and pastry! They always hit it out of the park.

Best baguette and sourdough in all of Australia!! Coffee can sometimes be less than great but the bread makes up for it. Queue can be long on weekends but again the bread is worth it. Seriously just try their bread...oh and pizza. I don’t know how they do it but their breads are just so unbelievably toasty and smoky and caramely and crusty and moist and dense and chewy.

Underpriced, over serviced and food was just as good as I hoped. As to be expected, asking for extra toppings was going to incur extra charges- for example a slice of tomato was going to be $3 - this is because due to the laws of our universe, matter cannot be created nor destroyed and thus due to the intrinsic value of extra items, extra currency is required. Staff is very friendly with the patience of saints!!!

Excellent pain au chocolat and very tasty sourdough. Met my high (French) standards. Good coffee too. Very busy but found a table, and service was quick and friendly. On the pricier side but quality was worth it.
I didn’t try the tarts so can’t comment on that (the base looked like custard rather than the French crème pâtissière I am used to).
